Balkh Hashplant by Khalifa Genetics – Info from our IG feed…
This incredible looking hashplant is pure variety collected from Balkh province, “…arguably the epicentre of the Afghan hash tradition”, by Khalifa Genetics. There’s a ton of information about this line on Khalifa’s official website. So head on over there to learn more.
We decided to use the Balkh for our new Colombian Collection as a way of including a second pure Afghan line, collected and short distance from Mazar-i-Sharif. The other Mazar line we’re gonna include in the collection is Jim Ortega’s Mazar, simply called Ortega. We’ve already mentioned this line a few times in our IG feed, just look for pink stigmas. For the collection it was very important for us to include a number of different indicas, with pure Afghans at the top of the list.
Khalifa’s Balkh was an absolute pleasure to grow, very easy no fuss, perfect for beginners. Plants were all very uniform, taking their time in veg, but exploding with vigour once you flip to 12/12. Our selection remained very light green in colour even though she was hit with the same temps that made everything else go purple. Like the Ortega and NL, she’s a resin monster. Just look at the pictures. Aroma goes sharp acidic lime / funk.
